Frequently asked questions

What is CHOOSE called in Spanish?
In Spanish Excel it is ELEGIR. The formula =CHOOSE(B2,0.02,0.04,0.06) is written =ELEGIR(B2;0,02;0,04;0,06) (or with commas in Mexico).
Why does CHOOSE use semicolons in some Excel versions?
It depends on regional settings. Where the comma is the decimal mark (Spain, much of South America), Excel separates arguments with semicolons. English Excel and Mexican Spanish Excel use commas.
What is the most common CHOOSE mistake?
If the index is 0 or larger than the number of options it returns #VALUE!.
