Frequently asked questions

What is RANK.EQ called in Spanish?
In Spanish Google Sheets it is JERARQUIA.EQV. The formula =RANK.EQ(B2,$B$2:$B$8) is written =JERARQUIA.EQV(B2;$B$2:$B$8) (or with commas under a Mexico locale).
Why does RANK.EQ use semicolons in some spreadsheets?
It depends on each spreadsheet's locale, under File > Settings. Where the comma is the decimal mark (Spain, much of South America), arguments are separated by semicolons. Mexico and United States locales use commas.
What is the most common RANK.EQ mistake?
Pin the range with $ before copying; otherwise each row compares against a different list.
