Google Sheets MINIFS function
Returns the lowest value among the rows that meet the conditions. In Spanish Sheets it is called MIN.SI.CONJUNTO.
Syntax
English Sheets
=MINIFS(range, criteria_range1, criterion1, [criteria_range2, criterion2], …)
Spanish Sheets (Mexico locale)
=MIN.SI.CONJUNTO(intervalo, intervalo_criterio1, criterio1, [intervalo_criterio2, criterio2], …)
Spanish Sheets (Spain, Latin America)
=MIN.SI.CONJUNTO(intervalo; intervalo_criterio1; criterio1; [intervalo_criterio2; criterio2]; …)
| Argument | What it is |
|---|---|
| range | Where the minimum is taken from. |
| criteria_range1 | The first range to check. |
| criterion1 | Its condition: a text, a number or a comparison like ">100". |
| criteria_range2, criterion2optional | More range-and-condition pairs. |
Example
MAXIFS and MINIFS return the highest or lowest value among the rows that meet the conditions. The range the result comes from goes first.

Common mistake
If no row qualifies it returns 0; do not mistake it for a real minimum of 0.

Frequently asked questions
- What is MINIFS called in Spanish?
- In Spanish Google Sheets it is MIN.SI.CONJUNTO. The formula =MINIFS(D2:D11,C2:C11,"Carmen") is written =MIN.SI.CONJUNTO(D2:D11;C2:C11;"Carmen") (or with commas under a Mexico locale).
- Why does MINIFS use semicolons in some spreadsheets?
- It depends on each spreadsheet's locale, under File > Settings. Where the comma is the decimal mark (Spain, much of South America), arguments are separated by semicolons. Mexico and United States locales use commas.
- What is the most common MINIFS mistake?
- If no row qualifies it returns 0; do not mistake it for a real minimum of 0.
