Google Sheets SUMIFS function

Adds the rows that meet every condition. In Spanish Sheets it is called SUMAR.SI.CONJUNTO.

Syntax

English Sheets

=SUMIFS(sum_range, criteria_range1, criterion1, [criteria_range2, criterion2], …)

Spanish Sheets (Mexico locale)

=SUMAR.SI.CONJUNTO(intervalo_suma, intervalo_criterio1, criterio1, [intervalo_criterio2, criterio2], …)

Spanish Sheets (Spain, Latin America)

=SUMAR.SI.CONJUNTO(intervalo_suma; intervalo_criterio1; criterio1; [intervalo_criterio2; criterio2]; …)

ArgumentWhat it is
sum_rangeWhat gets added.
criteria_range1The first range to check.
criterion1Its condition: a text, a number or a comparison like ">100".
criteria_range2, criterion2optionalMore range-and-condition pairs.

Example

SUMIFS adds up with several conditions. Mind the order: unlike SUMIF, the range to add comes first, then the range and criterion pairs.

=SUMIFS(D2:D11,B2:B11,"CDMX",C2:C11,"Jorge")

Common mistake

Unlike SUMIF, the sum range comes first.

Frequently asked questions

What is SUMIFS called in Spanish?
In Spanish Google Sheets it is SUMAR.SI.CONJUNTO. The formula =SUMIFS(D2:D11,B2:B11,"CDMX",C2:C11,"Jorge") is written =SUMAR.SI.CONJUNTO(D2:D11;B2:B11;"CDMX";C2:C11;"Jorge") (or with commas under a Mexico locale).
Why does SUMIFS use semicolons in some spreadsheets?
It depends on each spreadsheet's locale, under File > Settings. Where the comma is the decimal mark (Spain, much of South America), arguments are separated by semicolons. Mexico and United States locales use commas.
What is the most common SUMIFS mistake?
Unlike SUMIF, the sum range comes first.
