Excel MAP function
Applies a LAMBDA to every value in a range and returns the results in the same shape. It has the same name in Spanish Excel.
Syntax
English Excel
=MAP(array1, lambda)
Spanish Excel (Mexico)
=MAP(matriz1, lambda)
Spanish Excel (Spain, Latin America)
=MAP(matriz1; lambda)
| Argument | What it is |
|---|---|
| array1 | The range whose values are transformed. |
| lambda | A LAMBDA that receives each value. |
Example
LAMBDA(parameter, calculation) creates your own function. MAP(range, LAMBDA(…)) applies it to every cell and returns all the results together. With LET you can name it: LET(tax, LAMBDA(p, p*1.16), tax(B2)). Excel 365 only.
=MAP(B2:B6,LAMBDA(precio,precio*(1+E2)))
Common mistake
Excel 365 only. It keeps its English name in Spanish Excel too.
