Questions about Excel Formula Translator
What is VLOOKUP called in Spanish Excel?
BUSCARV. Likewise IF is SI, SUMIF is SUMAR.SI, COUNTIF is CONTAR.SI, IFERROR is SI.ERROR and INDEX is INDICE. Type any name in the dictionary search to see its equivalent.
Why does Spanish Excel use semicolons?
Where the comma is the decimal mark, as in Spain and much of South America, Excel separates arguments with semicolons. Pick "Spanish with ;" as the target and decimals are converted too.
Do I need to translate formulas when opening a file from another language?
No. Excel stores formulas in English internally and shows them in each installation's language. You only need to translate when copying formula text, for example from a tutorial or a forum.
Which functions keep their name?
MIN, MAX, ABS, LET, CONCAT, LAMBDA, MAP and BYROW, among others, are the same in both languages. The argument separator still depends on regional settings.
